The Governors of Wirral Metropolitan College have recently appointed Mike Potter as the new College Principal and Chief Executive.
In his previous role, Commodore Mike Potter CBE ADC RN, a physics graduate from Oxford University, was Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Operations of the MoD’s Naval Recruiting and Training Agency. Mike was in charge of all shore-based naval training across five major training establishments.
Mike, who joined the College on 23rd October 2006, said.
‘I understand the important role that Wirral Metropolitan College plays in supporting the education and training of the local community. The College helps up to 16,000 students achieve their qualifications every year and with over 700 staff, we are also a large local employer. Our staff and students are all very committed to realising the College’s vision to become outstanding and I am looking forward to the challenge of taking the College forward during the next phase of its development, to achieve this vision.’
