Childhood Studies students raised £120 (December 2006) towards the cost of replacing the boat and equipment recently vandalised in Waterside Nursery.
The CACHE foundation Award Caring For Children groups and the CACHE Entry Level group raised the money through a raffle and a cake sale. Items were donated for the raffle from local businesses. They handed the money over on 11th January 2007.
Gill Rodgers (Nursery Manager) enthused “it’s a tremendous effort from the college’s young students”. The Nursery needs to raise £5000 to replace the equipment and the play surface which was also damaged by the fire.
