Disabled Motorist Federation LogoPeter Lyne, Vice-president of the Disabled Motorist Federation was delighted to have the opportunity of attending the recent Making a Difference forum held at Wirral Metropolitan College’s Conway Park Campus, and is looking forward to establishing relationships with the college and supporting its efforts in the future.

The Disabled Motorists Federation, intends to soon establish its national Head Quarters on the Wirral. The federation was formed 40 years ago and is keen to network with the many regional and national charities who offer support to disabled people living in the Greater Merseyside region. Peter Lyne, a Thingwall resident, was appointed Vice-president of the federation three years ago, but will soon be taking on the full time role of National Development and Administration Manager.

Peter has been working extensively on behalf of the federation and has been fortunate to not only develop relations with many national charitable organisations, but has gained the interest of several regional and national government organisations. Earlier this year he was invited to participate in a Stakeholder Meeting at the House of Commons, at which the subject of accessible rail travel for disabled people was discussed.

Interest in the Disabled Motorists Federation is gathering momentum from as far as Scotland in the North to Herefordshire and Bedfordshire in the South. The charity has recently been fortunate to establish as association with a large national federation with over 100,000 members, approximately 20,000 of which are registered disabled
