Paralympic Hopeful

Paralympic Hopeful to Compete in British Championships after Winning 100’s of Swimming Medals.

Martin Rice, aged 19 from Claughton, Birkenhead, a special needs students at Wirral Metropolitan College, will be competing in the forthcoming British Swimming Championships in Sheffield and the British Swimming Open in Manchester.

Successful Launch of the diherent Exhibition

Geoff Yeomans formally opened the diherent exhibition at the Pacific Road Arts Centre on Tuesday 5th March.

New Sports Facility at Carlett Park

Contractors arrived at our Carlett Park campus this week to take core samples for the foundations of the new Sports Hall.
Construction of the Sports Hall will commence shortly, it is hoped that it will be completed by the end of the summer term. The new facility will give students an ideal venue for many sports activities.

Watch this space for progress reports from the construction site.

Voyage of a lifetime

Seven students from Wirral Metropolitan College took up the opportunity to sail on the Tall Ships Ocean Trust voyage. They acted as ‘crew’ for a week sailing across the Irish Sea to Wales and the Isle of Man. All seven young people were very excited about the trip and looked forward to hoisting the mainsail, cooking, cleaning and even taking the wheel and navigating the vessel.
