Move On – In the National Health Service (NHS)

Congratulations to Barbara Hawksett, Workplace Basic Skills Lecturer at Wirral Met on the successful completion of the Move On project, with the National Health Service (NHS). Barbara was a member of the steering group and is credited with developing one of individual training programmes to come out of the project – Effective Communication Skills for Working in the National Health Service.

Starting in 2006 a partnership approach was taken with relevant stakeholders working together in the North West to address the Skills for Life challenges presented to NHS staff through the introduction of the Agenda for Change and the Knowledge and Skills Framework. Partners have been working together to identify specific skills challenges underpinning the core dimensions that affect particular staff cohorts, and to develop themed training programmes incorporating the opportunity to develop skills in context and to achieve the National Certificates in Adult Literacy or Numeracy. The programmes have been promoted by key staff within the different trusts participating in the project.

Butterfly Swimathon

Martin relaxing after completing 60 lengths of the pool.I completed my swim for the Butterfly Swimathon, orgainised by Claire House, on Friday 19th October 07, at 7:30pm. I completed 60 lengths – that’s a mile if you’re counting!

Thank you to everyone who came along to support me. It’s not too late to sponsor me, please donate as much for Claire House as you can. I have been chosen by Wirral Metropolitan College to be their ambassador for the Swimathon. I hope to raise a lot of money from the Swimathon to help the children at Claire House.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Claire House Children’s Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now! @ www.justgiving.com/martinrice1
