‘7 Waves Radio’ opens new media centre

The 23rd of October saw the official launch of the new media centre at 7 Waves Community Radio.

The media centre has two radio training studios, two broadcast studios and a live room for local bands to perform and record.

Wirral Met runs three 12 week Radio Production courses at the centre per year in which students learn about all aspects of the radio industry from the history of radio, editing, writing radio commercials, voiceover’s and presentation skills.

ray-stubbs-and-jenny-barkleyStudents also get to practice their interviewing skills and learn how to make radio jingles using industry standard broadcast equipment.

The centre was officially opened by former Wirral Met student, Ray Stubbs. Ray played professional football with Tranmere Rovers FC before establishing a successful career in sports broadcasting with the BBC.
