Course Outline

The course is a modular unit based course with both classroom based study and practical exercises.

Course Details

This course is aimed to build on the knowledge from the basic photography course and to add skills in enhancing your pictures via the industry standard software Photoshop.

You will gain knowledge of photoshop using the following tools:

  • Layering
  • Blur tools
  • Levels & curves
  • Black & White enhancements
  • Cropping
  • And much, much more

You will also be taught further photography skills by building on the knowledge given from the basic course to control lighting, exposure control, tones & contrast etc.

Entry Guidelines

The course is aimed at those students with knowledge of photography or have completed the basic course.

Students will need to have basic IT skills prior to enrolling on this course. They will need to be able to turn a computer on and off, use a mouse and keyboard and open and save a file. At the first session they will be taken through a pre-enrolment assessment with their tutor to identify their current level of knowledge to ensure they enrol on the correct course. It is expected that students will bring their own digital camera.

Students will bring their own digital camera.

The course is held at the DPA's (Digital Photographic Academy's) facility sited at 290 Hoylake Road, Moreton, Wirral, CH46 6AF

Funding

No fee remission available. Fees must be paid in full.

Opportunities

Students may wish to continue their studies by moving on to the DPA's advanced course.
