The Information Advice and Guidance Service is located at:

The service is for all current and prospective students.
A New start for the New Year.
Student Advisers will be available across Wirral on the following dates between 1 and 3pm
- Tuesday 3 January – St James Centre, Birkenhead
- Wednesday 4 January – Twelve Quays Campus, Birkenhead
- Thursday 5 January – Carlett Park Campus – Eastham
- Friday 6 January – Old School House, Liscard
We aim to provide a range of Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG). Our Service is designed to help you make choices about learning and/or work.
Our objectives are to:
- Provide information, advice and guidance, to potential and existing learners taking into account your differing needs.
- Provide support to learners to help you to complete your learning programme successfully and progress.
- Liaise with College staff to facilitate the provision of information, advice and guidance and all other forms of support to clients and potential clients.
- Maintain accurate records of support, information, advice and guidance provided.
- Promote a supportive environment free from discrimination.
- Identify your needs and address, signpost or refer to suitable provider.
What we Offer
Information, Advice and Guidance about learning, training opportunities, jobs and careers is available in different formats such as printed material e.g. Prospectus, Intranet and internet
Information is given verbally over the telephone, face-to-face and by email.
Information is provided in English language and in standard formats. If you require information in another language or other formats our staff will try to obtain it for you.
We can refer you to other support services such as the Student Welfare and Finance, Additional Support, Safeguarding, ESOL ( English for Speakers of Other Languages).

What we expect from you
- To observe the codes of conduct which apply to the college’s students and visitors
- To be honest and open with us and where necessary to have thought about your own needs and the nature of your enquiry
- To comment on the service provided if asked
- To notify us of any changes in circumstances, eg Change of address
How we can act on your behalf
- We can obtain additional information for you from other sources
- We can refer you to other IAG centres when their expertise is more relevant to your needs
How you can help us to improve the service
A percentage of customers are asked to complete a questionnaire to provide us with feedback about the quality of our service. The information is given anonymously and is used by us to improve or add to the services offered.

- Wirral Metropolitan College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
