The college computer network, is available for use by all students at Wirral Met’ providing access to a wealth of software packages and resources to support you on your course. Every student will receive a network account, with an allocation of printer credits, an area of personal ‘backed up’ network storage and a college email address, as well as high speed access to the Internet with inbuilt safeguards to protect users from unsuitable content.
Using computers, e-Skills are becoming increasingly important in our everyday lives and the college therefore provides suitable computer facilities to enable you to learn in a relaxed, supportive, safe and friendly atmosphere. The network can be used to support the work you do both inside the classroom and outside college via Virtual Campus (our Virtual Learning Environment), to improve your chances in the job market, or just because you find using computers interesting and enjoyable.
As part of the service you will find support for developing your e-Skills offered in a variety of ways and locations.
- Support Staff are available to offer assistance within Learning Resource Centres.
- A wealth of up-to-date e-Resource subscriptions (eBooks, Journals, etc.) to support your learning.
