On enrolment, each student becomes a member of the Wirral Metropolitan College Students’ Union.
WMC STUDENT UNION LOGOThe Students’ Union is run by students who have been elected to serve in various capacities such as welfare, sports and entertainment. Any Students’ Union member is eligible to stand for, or vote in, the election of an official post within the Union. Candidates for executive posts must be 18 years of age prior to election.
Each year, the Students’ Union represents the students of Wirral Metropolitan College in areas such as housing, travel fees, course costs and in negotiations and disciplinary proceedings. The Students’ Union also provides a delegation to represent Wirral Metropolitan College Students’ Union members at the National Union of Students Conference each year.
Each Students’ Union member is also welcome to set up a club or society with financial assistance from the Union.
