The College over the period of a week at the end of October, had been voting across campus from the charities which were nominated at this years Fresher’s Fair. The top nine charities nominated were:

Cancer Research UK
Claire House
Breast Cancer
RSPCA
NSPCC
British Red Cross
Down’s Syndrome @ Wirral
Help for Heroes
Alder Hey

The votes were cast and the charity which polled the highest number of votes was Down’s Syndrome @ Wirral.

Lets hope we can raise as much money as possible for them this yeear.

On 16 September the Pacific Road Arts Theatre opened their doors for the annual Students’ Union Freshers Fair.

There were a variety of stalls for students to visit from within the college and external agencies, who the Students’ Union have brought together offering advice, freebies and give aways.

From the college we had representatives from Mettset, Hair and Beauty, Learner Services and the Libraries, we would like to thank them for their attendance and support.  We would like to also thank the SEL Department for their outstanding work in the cafe. We also had several fantastic performances from the Drama department, a big thank you goes out to the Drama student’s.

The feedback received has been that this has been the best Freshers Fair Ever.  Thanks goes out to everyone who participated.
