The Students’ Union is a body of elected students, who deal with the general welfare, representation and recreational needs of students studying at Wirral Metropolitan College.
The Students’ Union also organises all sorts of events for students, ranging from disco’s, charity fund-raising and day trips to short break holidays (check out the events page).
Clubs & Societies
Each Students’ Union member is welcome to set up a club or society with assistance from the Union. If you have any queries please contact the SU office.
Recreation
The Students’ Union has a recreation area at the Carlett Park Campus which is open to all Wirral Metropolitan College Students. Plans are currently underway to improve amenities on all campuses.
The Students’ Union also organises daytrips. There is a trip to London (which includes a flight on the London Eye will be happening in May and the annual day out to Alton Towers at the end of June. Details of this and other events will be advertised across the college and on this Website.
Representation
The Students’ Union not only represents their students internally, but also at local and national levels.
From representation in academic appeals and disciplinaries, to attending NUS Conferences, lobbying the government and your MP’s with NUS against tuition/top-up fees and other issues.

Student Discounts
Certain shops nationally and locally will offer students discounts. You must remember to carry your NUS Extra Card with you at all times as no discount will be given otherwise.
