This course will provide you with a wide range of knowledge, skills and experience that will help prepare you for higher education in a computing related field.

Course Details

This course will include the basic theories and applications of computing alongside a good understanding of computer hardware and software systems, with the everyday skills needed for working on computer-based projects.

You will cover various modules including:

  • Computer Architecture
  • Software Design and Development
  • Website Design
  • Advanced Spreadsheets and Databases

In addition, you will develop a range of supportive modules designed to prepare you for university such as; Essential study skills, Research and Evaluation, Mathematics for Computing.

Entry Guidelines
Relevant Level 2 qualification at Pass or above or minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-4/A*- C If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144.
Assessment Method

A wide range of assessment methods are used to help you develop the skills needed for Higher Educations. Such as; essays, reports, research, practical assessments, academic posters, timed assessments.
