Access to HE Photography is designed for 19+ Adults who wish to pursue a career in Photography. The course is equivalent to three A levels and will enable you to progress to university to study photography further. This is progression route to our BA (Hons) Photography

Course Details

The course explores a diverse range of technical and creative disciplines within Photography. Students will build a grounding foundation in both digital and film formats, developing skills that will enhance them to progress internally to our new BA (Hons) Photography, which is planned for 2023. You can also progress to other degree programmes at other universities, or straight into the industry. Students will learn how to use professional camera equipment, darkroom, studio and editing software. Exploring a range of topics within photography such as, portraits, journalism, experimental and advertising. As well as looking into the work of key practitioners, learning how to analyse and critically reflect, both their own work and the work of others. With opportunities to exhibit work, take part in workshops, guest speakers and trips or visits to exhibitions, students will be able to explore and develop photography skills on this exciting and diverse course.

Entry Guidelines

Relevant Level 2 qualification at Pass or above or minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C (Grade 4 or above).

Satisfactory interview to evidence your interest in the subject. We will consider you without the above qualifications if you have relevant experience in photography and can evidence your ability to study at level 3, for example, through recent study.

Equipment Required

Digital Camera, USB or External Hard Drive, SD card.

Assessment Method

You will be assessed with a variety of methods, including the building of a portfolio of work, presentations, essays, research and exhibitons
