This Level 2 BTEC Extended Certificate in Photography course will equip you with skills leading to progression opportunities to Level 3 Photography and to prepare you for a career in the Photography industry.
If you are passionate about photography, this BTEC level 2 Extended Certificate in Photography course is the one for you! It explores a diverse range of technical and creative disciplines within Photography. You will complete a number of units throughout one year to achieve this qualification, internally and externally assessed. These units will include both studio and location photography as well as editing photographic images.
You will build skills in both digital and film formats, skills that will enhance you to progress internally to our Level 3 Photography programs. You will learn how to use professional camera equipment, darkroom, studio and editing software.
You will build a portfolio and complete projects throughout this course. You will explore a range of topics within photography such as, portraits, experimental and advertising.
You will also have the opportunity of looking into the work of key practitioners, learning how to analyse and critically reflect, both their own work and the work of others.
You will be given the opportunities to exhibit work, take part in workshops, meet guest speakers and participate in trips. You will be able to explore and develop photography skills on this exciting and diverse course.
This is a study programme and priority is for students who are 16-18 years.
Relevant Level 1 qualification or minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above.
Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.
