Training and developing practical skills whilst demonstrating the application of safe practice, progress is constantly monitored against set targets and practical tasks sheets which outline standards and expectations.

Theory sessions underpin the benefits of applying different techniques whilst target setting and written feedback of students work will ensure students are prepared for on-line exams.

Course Details

Participate in practical activities that develop specialist techniques specific to brickwork, theory sessions outline the application of safe practices within the construction industry whilst developing an understanding of the materials and equipment used in brickwork and across other trades clarifying the sequential order when designing and structures and planning projects on site.

Entry Guidelines

This is a Study Programme for those aged 16-18 years of age.

Relevant Entry Level qualification or 3 GCSEs at Grade 2/E or above.

Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.

Equipment Required

To learn effectively on your course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular activities as part of your studies. Assessment Method

Observation of practical tasks and written knowledge tests.

Additional Information

PPE must be worn at all times in College and all students must arrive at sessions on time, prepared and ready to learn with pens, paper etc.

All students must be fully committed to attend every element of their study programme, Vocational, English, maths and Work Experience.

This study programme is free for students, who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, and students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
