The Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Diploma is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of people, enabling them to work in the industry in their chosen craft. It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions, and the test(s) are based on the student showing what they can do as an individual through the completion of all the requirement of the qualification.
Level 2 Diploma units
Unit 201/601 - Health, safety and welfare in construction.
Unit 202/602 - Principle of building construction, information and communication
Unit 207 - Carry out first fix flooring and roofing
Unit 208 - Carry out first fix frames, partitions and stairs
Unit 209 - Carry out second fixing operations
Unit 210 - Carry out maintenance
Unit 211 - Set up and operate a circular saw
This is a Study Programme for those aged 16-18 years of age.
Relevant level 1 qualification or minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above and relevant practical experience.
Satisfactory interview, school report and / or satisfactory reference.

To learn effectively on your course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular activities as part of your studies. Assessment will be completed by practical and online tests.
The course requires manual dexterity and physical stamina. You will need to lift and handle tools and materials.
