If you are interested in a career in the beauty therapy industry then this is the course for you.
You will spend most of your week in our Beauty Salons working on models and clients. There are also elements that require you to practice your skills at home.
You will cover the following:
- Facial Treatments
- Manicure
- Pedicure
- Waxing
- Eye Treatments
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Health and Safety
- Nail art
- Salon reception
Skills such as working with others, improving own performance and problem solving form part of the course and should help you gain employment.
During your course there will be opportunities for attending national shows and exhibitions where you can see some of the main wholesalers and manufacturers of equipment and products. Once a year we hold a college show and you will be expected to participate.
This is a Study Programme for students who are 16-18 years of age.
To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)
OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)

To learn effectively on this course, you will need to use certain items of equipment and uniform to undertake particular activities as part of your studies. These will be yours to keep and you will be able to use them for practice at home and in your future career. These items will incur additional costs and can be discussed with a member of the hairdressing and beauty team.

Study programmes are full-time courses for 16-18 year olds which include:
- Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
- English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A* - C (grade 4 or above) in English and maths
- Non-study activities such as tutorials, study skills, fund-raising/charity work, and/or trips
