This qualification aims to enable you to enhance the ranges of services and techniques offered to nail services clients.
This qualification also covers the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the service and maintain effective health, safety and hygiene working practices throughout the treatment.
You will need the skills for fine work e.g. accurate use of a nail varnish brush.
You must be prepared to give and receive treatments to/from other students on your course.
An ability to communicate one to one e.g. tutor or client and in a group as part of discussions.
Please note that it is mandatory to complete awarding body COVID19 qualifications whilst studying a VTCT course. The exam registration fee is approximately £20.To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1
Functional Skills in English and
Maths)
OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or
above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)
Satisfactory interview and/or assessment

To learn effectively on this course, you will need to use certain items of equipment and uniform to undertake particular activities as part of your studies. These will be yours to keep and you will be able to use them for practice at home and in your future career. These items will incur additional costs and can be discussed with a member of the hairdressing and beauty team.
