Caitlin joined Wirral Met on an AAT Assistant Accountant apprenticeship in 2019, working at Wirral Borough Council. Caitlin has since progressed on to Queen’s University Belfast to study a Masters in International Public Policy.

Stuart Umbers
Stuart started at Wirral Met in 2014 as an intermediate level engineering apprentice and progressed on to the advanced level apprenticeship, where he worked at Prowell Ltd in Ellesmere Port, the world's largest manufacturer of corrugated cardboard. Stuart has become an integral part of their engineering team.
Engineering career routes include becoming an engineering maintenance technician or a welder, and you could work across a range of sectors including engineering, transport, aerospace and offshore oil and gas.
Motor Vehicle students progress onto successful careers in car dealerships, franchises, service centres and general garages, working in roles such as Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Mechanic, MOT Specialist, Service Manager.
With an engineering qualification, you could progress to careers as diverse as developing manufacturing equipment, security systems or making prosthetic limbs. Career routes include becoming an engineering maintenance technician or a welder, and you could work across a range of sectors including engineering, transport, aerospace and offshore oil and gas. There are also many opportunities for those interested in a career in motor vehicle engineering. Cristina graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BSc (Hons) Psychology Degree after studying for the first 2 years at Wirral Met College. Cristina said: “Going back to education after almost 20 years was quite a daunting task, but my Wirral Met tutors gave me wonderful support as well as challenged me, making me aim higher.”
