Star International are looking to recruit two Service Technician Apprentices to join the team and work alongside our Fire Fighting Equipment (FFE) Service Team and Life Saving Appliances (LSA) Technicians.
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Work alongside Fire Fighting Equipment Service Team (FFE) & Life Saving Appliances (LSA) Technicians
- Complete annual Servicing and Maintenance of Life Jackets / Life Rafts / Immersion Suits / Rescue Boats / Davit Systems / Fire Fighting Equipment / Fire Suppression systems in accordance with manufacturers manual when necessary to support the team
- Attending Vessels to complete servicing onboard or onsite at branches throughout the UK
- Comply, understand and maintain H&S standards in conjunction with ISO 45001
- Complete administrative duties and documentation in line with company ISO 9001 standards
- Work as part of team to deliver exceptional customer service and safety standards
- Deliver and install serviced equipment back to the customer as requested
- Support the team in deliveries through driving company vehicles in compliance with company policy where necessary.
- Applying good housekeeping within the workplace as directed
- Accurate and timely completion of client related documentation
- Completion of vehicle log and updates when required.
- Monitoring and ordering stock for service tasks so replenishment is timely and available.
- Ensure practicing safe working practices in the workplace.
- Ensure use of appropriate PPE
- Ensure any incident of risk or near miss is reviewed and investigated and reported to the appropriate person.
- Maintaining your PDR portfolio for review with Line Manager
- Any other reasonable requests from management

Weekly hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 4:30pm, potential for overtime hours.

The objective of the Aftersales Administrator is to support the Aftersales Dept by assisting with all aspects of administration. This role will be to assist our Administrator and Maintenance coordinator. Attention to detail and accuracy are an essential part of this role.
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Assist department in answering Aftersales telephone calls
- Administration of engineer job sheets and allocation of associated work hours to CRM system.
- Preparation of engineers/apprentice’s timesheets for payroll department.
- Administration of vehicle tracker system and associated administrative tasks and reports. (Weekly tasks)
- Administration of all engineer expenses and allocation to time sheets.
- Assist Maintenance coordinator with all aspect of maintenance planning.
- Processing purchase invoices on CRM.
- Preparing jobs ready for invoices to be raised or order numbers to be requested.
- Raising of sales invoices/credit notes (job sheets and quotes) on CRM.
- Administration of engineer’s job sheets/SSA (scanning and linking to CRM)
- Upkeep and monitoring of Client Asset Registers.
- Support Dept Managers in general service office duties.

The objective of the Solutions Administrator is to support the Solutions Dept by managing all aspects of administration. Management and accuracy of all associated forms and reports is an essential part of this role.
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Assist department in answering Solutions telephone calls.
- Preparation of engineers/apprentice’s timesheets for payroll department
- Compile a Weekly Tracker Report wherein working hours, speeding and personal mileage are monitored and recorded
- Create and update workflow
- Order resources for example equipment and materials
- Act as the point of contact for all participants
- Preparing documentation for Director/Manager’s upcoming meetings
- Liaise with Engineering supply chain teams to ensure parts are scheduled in line with project plans
- Making calls/taking messages for the Solutions Director and Manager
- Use tools to monitor hours, plans and expenditure
- Raising sales invoices through CLIK system processing and sending to clients via email
- Carry out compilation of O&M manuals both electronically and paper
- Supporting Solutions Director and Manager in general office duties
