Michael Bayley started his Apprenticeship Standard in Installation Electrician in 2019. The course covers knowledge and skills including installing wiring systems, electrotechnical equipment in buildings and structures and diagnosing and correcting electrical faults. Apprenticeships allow you to work, earn and gain a qualification as you start your career.

Michael secured his apprenticeship with Magenta Living - the largest registered housing provider in Wirral and a not-for-profit organisation, owning and managing just under 13,000 properties.

Michael studied at Bebington High Sports College (now known as Co-op Academy Bebington) before joining Wirral Met to start his electrical course. After his course, Michael hopes to become a fully qualified electrician and continue to work in the industry.

He said: “This course has helped me get an apprenticeship and given me a chance to become a fully qualified electrician.”
