Wirral Met BA Illustration with Animation Students were honoured to receive a visit from Dead Pigeon Gallery on Monday 7 February 2022.
Dead Pigeon Gallery is a roaming gallery, which brings contemporary art to communities and individuals who may not usually engage with art, hosting exhibitions in unusal places with the aim of breaking down barriers and encouraging the ethos that art is for everyone.
Led by Jayne Lawless, a multimedia fine artist with a background in sculpture, working with Catherine Dalton and Josie Jenkins, Dead Pigeon Gallery has delivered socially engaged exhibitions and events at unique venues across Merseyside, since 2017.
Jayne talked to our BA (Hons) Illustration and Animation students about her own background as an artist, offered advice on how to network successfully and spent time browsing students' portfolios.
Jayne Lawless said: "It was an absolute pleasure coming over to visit the students at Wirral Met and talk about Dead Pigeon Gallery. But more importantly hear about their work and ideas they're working towards."
"I think there's some exceptional talent and I'm looking forward to coming to see the Degree Show."
