These are based at our Oval Campus, where you can take part in outdoor activities, public events and exhibitions whilst developing confidence, people skills and improving your fitness. Our courses also give you an insight into the work and expectations of being a part of uniformed services.

The Public and Uniformed services department have recently received a donation from body armour manufacturer and distributor SafeGuard Clothing. The brand’s tactical vest will offer students practical experience and demonstrates the latest developments in precision engineered protective technology that is widely used by the police, military and security professionals.

The brand’s top-level safety vests provide experience in health and safety to highlight the importance of understanding different protection levels, styles and systems for those who plan on working within the Public Services sector. SafeGuard are supporting UK colleges like Wirral Met to enhance the quality of learning and experience in the sector.

Thomas Bowman, of SafeGuard Clothing, said the company is working with colleges across the UK to enhance the teaching experience of students in Public Service courses.

“We brought students the most recent body armour so they can be up to date with their safety training. When they hit the streets, they will already have had their hands on the most technically-advanced protective equipment out there."
