The electric and hybrid market is rapidly growing across the UK. With almost 400 thousand electric and hybrid vehicles on the roads in October 2020 and the Government’s recent announcement that petrol and diesel cars will be banned five years earlier than originally planned in 2035, projections show that these trends will continue to increase significantly over the next few years.

As a leading education and training provider for businesses across the Liverpool City Region, Wirral Met College has designed a new course that will enable vehicle technicians and mechanics to accelerate their skills and expand their service offering.

Designed with large dealerships and smaller garages in mind, this course will provide mechanics with the skills and technical knowledge to conduct specialist maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles, following safe working practices as set out by the Health and Safety Executive.

Over three months on one evening per week, experienced tutors will provide students with the skills to mitigate hazards through the use of technical knowledge and specialist equipment.

For those who have been affected by the unprecedented period of job losses,  this is a perfect opportunity to gain new skills to secure current employment and promotion prospects, or to set yourself ahead of other job applicants when applying for new roles. If you live in the Liverpool City Region and are aged over 19, this course is FREE!
