Have you been trying get an apprenticeship or job, but lack the skills or experience that local employers are looking for? Although the new term is already underway, Wirral Met College can help you to progress into employment!

Offering a range of full-time and part-time study programmes, apprenticeships and traineeship programmes, Wirral Met College help to prepare those aged 16 to 24 to progress into employment.

With links to local employers, traineeship programmes are available with a variety of roles and provide participants with valuable customer service skills as well as a basic knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.

Those interested in the hospitality and catering sector can gain experience with the Richmond Hotel in both front and back of house roles such as reception, housekeeping, kitchen and bar work.

With local NHS providers, clinical and non-clinical roles are available for those seeking experience as either healthcare assistants or administrators.

In addition to high quality work experience, traineeship participants will develop English and maths skills, whilst learning how to prepare for work by developing interpersonal and interview skills, as well as creating a CV!

Upon completion of traineeship programmes with Wirral Met College, all participants are guaranteed either a job interview (if a relevant position is available), or an exit interview that will provide valuable feedback to help towards securing an apprenticeship or employment.

 To be eligible for a traineeship programme, you will:

  • Be aged 16 to 24
  • Be unemployed, or not working more than 16 hours per week
  • Have limited work experience
  • Have not yet achieved a full level 2 or level 3 qualification
