A look back at the monumental year celebrating Wirral's Borough of Culture 2019.
Wirral has welcomed over 400,000 people to events this year, which has seen visitors taken on a journey of local myths and legends to the furthest corners of our universe. Wirral Met is proud to be a part of making this happen.
The Borough of culture year has been inspired by discovery, exploration and the great outdoors and created exciting moments and unforgettable experiences for residents and visitors. Wirral Met has played its part in a range of events, such as the naming ceremony of the RRS Sir David Attenborough at Cammell Laird, the Museum of the Moon exhibition at Birkenhead Town Hall and the OVO Energy Tour of Britain, which attracted worldwide attention and shown what makes Wirral such a special place, whether it’s our borough’s innovation or our stunning natural landscapes.
