Wirral Met College are excited to announce that for the academic year 2023/24, Autism Together has been chosen by our staff and students as our Charity of the Year.
Autism Together is a remarkable organisation that has been dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families living with autism for over 50 years. Through their tireless efforts, Autism Together provides a range of vital services, including residential care, supported living, and outreach programmes, all geared toward supporting those on the autism spectrum to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Our annual charity selection process involves the input and votes of both staff and students, making it a truly collective decision. Autism Together resonated deeply with our college community due to its local presence, the transformative impact it has had on the lives of countless individuals, and its unwavering dedication to raising awareness about autism.
Paul Baker, Communications and Marketing Officer at Autism Together expressed their excitement about this newly formed partnership “Thank you all so much! Everyone at Autism Together is thrilled to have been chosen as Wirral Met College’s Charity of the Year. We’re extremely proud that students and staff across Wirral Met have voted to support us, and we look forward to working closely with the college over the coming year.”
Gill Banks, Principal and CEO of Wirral Met College said "I am proud that our chosen charity for this year is Autism Together. This charity does outstanding work providing support to people on the autism spectrum in the local community. Throughout the academic year 2023/24, our students will embark on a series of exciting fundraising initiatives to support Autism Together's vital work."
We believe that every member of our college community can make a difference, no matter how big or small their contribution. By coming together to support Autism Together, we are not only raising funds but also fostering a spirit of empathy, understanding, and unity among our staff and students.
Be sure to keep an eye on our website, social media channels, and notice boards for updates on upcoming events and opportunities to get involved. We are excited to embark on this journey of giving back and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those living with autism in our local community.
