Wirral Met College music students took center stage on Wednesday 24th May to showcase their talent at Rockpoint Records in New Brighton. This marked the second in a series of events facilitated by the college to provide valuable performance opportunities to its aspiring musicians.

The acoustic cover style sessions attracted an impressive turnout, with local music fans filling the venue. For some of the students, the event was their first experience performing in front of a live audience.

The college's commitment to nurturing its students' talents has been evident throughout this series of events. By providing a platform for performances at esteemed local venues including Rockpoint Records and Future Yard in Birkenhead, Wirral Met College aims to bridge the gap between education and real-world experience, preparing its students for successful careers in the music industry.

"We are immensely proud of our music students and their achievements," said Sarah Edwards, Arts and Media Curriculum Manager at Wirral Met. "These performances not only give them a chance to shine but also empower them with invaluable experience and self-confidence. We strive to equip our students with the skills they need to thrive in the competitive music industry, and these events play a crucial role in their development."

One of the standout performers, music student Bobby Hutchinson, expressed his gratitude for the opportunities provided by the college and shared his thoughts on his experience studying music at Wirral Met “I am nearing the end of my course and can honestly say that I am leaving with twice the amount of knowledge I had when I started the course”.

The success of the event at Rockpoint Records showcases the growing reputation of Wirral Met College as a leading institution for music education. The college's comprehensive curriculum, experienced tutors, and commitment to providing practical opportunities contribute to the success and achievements of its talented students.

The next event in the series will take place at Rockpoint Records on Wednesday 28th June, featuring a diverse range of musical styles and performances. Wirral Met College invites local music fans to come along for an opportunity to see some of the best local emerging musical talent in the Wirral.
