Wirral Met College is set to host one of the WorldSkills UK regional heats, an annual competition that aims to help young people go further and faster in their careers, gaining the skills that employers need most.

The regional heat for ‘Industrial Electronics – Engineering’ will take place at Wirral Met on Thursday 18th June, and see competitors undertake the role of an electronics technician and work to industry recognised standards. Students and apprentices from Wirral Met will compete with other students from across the UK, to decide who will go forward to the National Finals in Birmingham in November.

The best of the best will have the opportunity to join Squad UK, and potentially Team UK, undergoing world-class skill and mindset training before representing their country on the global stage in Shanghai 2021 and Lyon 2023, alongside competitors from around 70 countries.

Wirral Met is delighted to host this prestigious event which inspires students to excel, share best practice and raise standards in a wide variety of skill areas.
