Throughout the course, you will produce a portfolio of work and exhibit in an end-of-year degree show held in a professional art gallery.
Career Opportunities
A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Photography is recognised by employers and also offers a direct pathway to degree level study, opening up a wide range of exciting career opportunities.
Photographer
According to Prospects, the salaries of Photographers can vary vastly. Whilst early career salaries can fetch between £16,000 to £22,000, building experience and reputation as a freelance, self employed Photographer can return salaries ranging from £25,000 up to £65,000.
Advertising Art Director
According to Prospects, the range of typical starting salaries for junior art directors is around £25,000 to £27,000, whilst middleweight art director salaries vary between £28,000 and £45,000 depending on experience and success. However, senior directors can earn anything between £55,000 and £120,000.
Film/Video Editor
According to Prospects, experienced Film and Video Editors can expect to earn between £21,000 to £35,000, whilst those working on bigger budget projects could earn between £37,000 to £70,000.
Magazine Features Editor
According to Prospects, the typical salary range for Features Editors is between £20,000 to £40,000, whilst average salaries for those at a senior level are around £35,000 to £65,000, however this is dependent on role and size of publication.
