Welcome to the Aspiring Professionals Plumbing programme at Wirral Met. This course is your first step toward a career in the plumbing and heating industry. You'll gain hands-on experience with key techniques such as pipe bending, jointing, and installing plumbing systems, while also improving your confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The programme is a stepping stone to a Level 2 Plumbing qualification.
As you build your plumbing skills, you'll also improve your Maths, English, and digital knowledge — all critical for securing future employment. You'll benefit from expert teaching, one-to-one support, and valuable industry insight. With opportunities for work experience, guest speaker sessions, and practical workshops, we'll help you develop your communication, time management, and interview skills — preparing you for the world of plumbing work.
3 days per week incorpating maths, Engliah, work experience and tutorial.
This is a Study Programme for students aged 16-18 years.
If you are yet to gain any formal qualifications (e.g. GCSE's) you will be enrolled onto our Aspiring Professionals Programme which is perfect for progression to further study at level 2 or alternatively an apprenticeship route into employment.
Basic levels of literacy and numeracy are required for you to study at this level (grade 2 or below in English/Maths)

To learn effectively on this course, you will need to use certain items of equipment, such as steel toe capped boots to undertake particular activities as part of your studies.
