Our Level 2 Certificate in Psychology is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and experience in developing your study skills and the very interesting subject of psychology.
You will be learning about the discipline in terms of the concepts, theories and perspectives which characterise Psychology.
This course is intended to offer progression to higher level study in
Psychology and also to a range of other Social Sciences, Humanities and Care
courses.
The aims of the qualification are to enable you:
- To provide a range of academic study skills in Psychology at an introductory level as the basis for a range of related progression options
- To introduce a number of substantive areas, basic concepts and theories within Psychology
- To provide an introductory level of application of Psychology to a number
of issues in areas of interest

Applicants must be at least 19 years old when they commence study.
Applicants may be considered on their individual skills and experience.
You do not need formal qualifications for this course. However, you must be able to read and write clearly, interpret tasks, be willing to work independently, produce answers in a legible and understandable form and organise information clearly and coherently.

You will build up a portfolio of evidence that covers the relevant assessment criteria. All your work will be internally assessed and verified by the teaching team and then externally verified by the awarding body Ascentis.
You will complete two units:
- Application of Psychological Concepts
- Definition and Illustration of Psychological concepts
- Level 3 Access to Psychology (along with Maths and English at Level 2)
- BSc (Hons) Psychology — Foundation year 0 (With Level 2 English and Maths)
