This course is designed for those who are new to training and teaching or those who are interested in developing a career in this area.

The level 3 award is a 16 week introductory course which prepares you to teach, tutor or train.

Course Details

This qualification comprises of the following units, making up a total of 12 credits:

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training - 3 credits
  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training - 6 credits 
  •  Understanding assessment in education and training - 3 credits

Entry Guidelines

To study this Level 3 qualification, a L2 Functional Skills in English and/or Maths would be beneficial. You will be required to undertake an initial assessment of skills in English, Maths and ICT at the start of the programme.

Places are subject to satisfactory interview and/or assessment

Assessment Method

Study will be through a combination of class attendance and self study.

There will be a variety of written assessments and a microteach assessment is also required as part of the course.

Additional Information

You will need to have the ability to cope with mathematical concepts and complete written assignments.
