This very practical course will provide learners with an understanding of the principles of the travel and tourism industry and allow them to explore the various avenues of work within this industry.
This study programme will provide students with the opportunity to gain a good understanding of the numerous career options within the travel industry. It is designed to ensure students learn the necessary skills and gain valuable experience which will enable them to apply for employment within the various sectors of the travel industry or progress on to a higher level qualification.
The study programme is delivered in a practical way by lecturers who have travel industry experience and can bring the subjects to life.
Learners will:
- Complete various units including — Customer service, UK travel industry, Travel and tourism destinations.
- Gain an understanding of the travel and tourism industry and prepare to progress to further study.
- Understand and develop the skills necessary to work within the travel and tourism industry.
- Allow learners to recognise the transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.
This is a Study Programme for students who are 16-18 years of age.
To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)
OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)
