Wirral Met College’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM) Centre is based at our Twelve Quays Campus.
The STEAM Centre brings together a number of key technology disciplines embracing specialist, industry-standard equipment and enabling students to develop their skills for a wide range of careers.
The Centre incorporates a Chemical Instrumentation Lab with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance equipment, Molecular Biology and Micro Biology Labs and a Life Sciences Lab. Our facilities support students learning from level one up to Degree level courses, with equipment you would usually find in a university setting.

Science
Science facilities include a Chemical Instrumentation Lab with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance equipment; Molecular Biology and Micro Biology Labs; a Robotics and Mechatronics Arena; a Physics and Electronics Lab; a Life Sciences Lab.
Computing / Technology
You will develop your skills and experience with access to our dedicated digital technology learning zone with facilities including including computer networking labs, CAD, 3D printing, virtual reality tools and drones.
Engineering
Hone your skills using our excellent, industry standard equipment including Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) systems to support engineering manufacturing, welding bays, virtual welding, CAD and robotics equipment.
Motor Vehicle
You will develop your skills in our operational workshops equipped with cars, engines and specialist diagnostic and servicing equipment including for new hybrid technologies.
