British Sign Language
Welcome to British Sign Language (BSL) at Wirral Met College. It is estimated that 25,000 people use BSL as their main language, whilst around 151,000 use BSL, of which 87,000 are deaf*.
Our courses will introduce you to a wide range of BSL practices, knowledge and skills for use in daily life, and at work. Discover regional and cultural variations of BSL, signing structure, and the issues faced by those in the deaf communtiy. Develop your ability in holding longer conversations, understanding BSL grammar, and improve your signing fluency. Whether you're just starting out, or have previous experience with BSL, we have an option for you, with Level 1 and Level 2 courses available.
