The AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting is the third and final stage of the full AAT qualification. It is a professional course which will give you the skills to excel at a wide range of accounting and finance jobs.
Students will build on the management accounting knowledge that they have acquired during studies at levels 2 and 3, whilst acquiring new knowledge and skills in the areas of taxation and credit management. There are three mandatory units: • Applied Management Accounting • Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements • Internal Accounting Systems and Controls There are also two optional units that we teach: • Personal Tax • Credit & Debt Management All five units are required in order to pass the qualification. These are under the new AAT Q2022 qualification, which is available from 1st September 2022. This qualification is equivalent standard to a foundation degree.
Students are required to have completed the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting before commencing this course.

A requirement of this course is membership with the AAT (The Association of Accounting Technicians). For 2022-2023 the cost of registering for the AAT for this qualification is £240, which must be paid to the AAT. It is advantageous to pay this as soon as possible, in order to gain access to the wide range of learning resources available from the AAT. Please be aware that criminal offences, bankruptcy and IVAs will affect your application for membership with the AAT. See course leader for further details. Initial unit exams are included in the course fees. Exam resits are an extra cost, which at level 4 is £63 for all exams. There is also an extra cost for course textbooks, which is approximately £60.
