Or Application Form to be returned to Student Services
This one year course is an essential qualification for many students. We follow the Edexcel Syllabus which is varied and practical, covering: Using and Applying Maths, Data Handling, Shape, Space & Measures and Algebra.
The course starts in September or December and prepares students to complete Edexcel GCSE maths at Foundation level or Higher level by the following May/June. There are three written exams. These consist of 1 Non-Calculator paper in May and 2 Calculator papers in June. Your final grade is based on your total score from these three papers.
If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144.
Students must be fully committed to the course and be prepared to attend regularly, hand in regular homework and assignments, as well as being able to organise their own time for independent study. Students are required to have a scientific calculator, ruler, protractor and pair of compasses (details from course tutor).
Dates are available throughout the year
