This very practical course will provide learners with an understanding of the principles of the travel and tourism industry and allow them to explore the various avenues of work within this industry.

Course Details

This study programme will provide students with the opportunity to gain a good understanding of the numerous career options within the travel industry. It is designed to ensure students learn the necessary skills and gain valuable experience which will enable them to apply for employment within the various sectors of the travel industry or progress on to a higher level qualification.

The study programme is delivered in a practical way by lecturers who have travel industry experience and can bring the subjects to life.

Learners will:

  1. Complete various units including — Customer service, UK travel industry, Travel and tourism destinations.
  2. Gain an understanding of the travel and tourism industry and prepare to progress to further study.
  3. Understand and develop the skills necessary to work within the travel and tourism industry.
  4. Allow learners to recognise the transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.
Entry Guidelines

This is a Study Programme for students aged 16-18 years old.

Relevant Level 1 qualification or minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3 (Grade D)or above.

Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.

Equipment Required

To learn effectively on your course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular activities as part of your studies. To further enhance your learning experience the following will be required: Educational Visits £125

This study programme is free for students, who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, and students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
