The Plastering Level 2 Diploma is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of students, enabling them to work in the industry in their chosen craft. It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions.

Level 2 Diploma Units
  • Unit 201: Health, safety and welfare in construction
  • Unit 202: Principles of building construction, information and communication
  • Unit 221: Apply plastering materials to interiors
  • Unit 222: Fix dry lining and plasterboard to interiors
  • Unit 223: Lay sand and cement screeds
  • Unit 224: Apply plastering materials to exteriors
  • Unit 225: Produce reverse moulds for fibrous
  • Unit 226: Casting and fixing fibrous plasterwork
Entry Guidelines

This is a Study Programme for students who are 16-18 years of age.

To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1  Functional Skills in English and Maths)

OR

A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)

Equipment Required
To learn effectively on your course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular activities as part of your studies. Assessment Method
Assessment will be completed by practical and online tests.
Additional Information

The course requires manual dexterity and physical stamina. You will need to lift and handle tools and materials.

Are you aged 16-18?
Study programmes are full-time courses for 16-18 year olds which include:

  • A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
  • Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
  • English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A* - C in English and maths (grade 4 or above).
  • Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips
Where can I progress to?
Successful completion of this course may mean you can progress to Level 3 Diploma Plastering or NVQ Level 2/3 Plastering (if you gain an apprenticeship).

This study programme is free for students, who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, and students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
